Data released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) showed that 13 million jobs were lost in June alone. As per the data, India’s unemployment rate increased to 7.80 percent in June. The data also revealed a staggering 45% unemployment rate for young Indians ages 16-24 which is over three times higher than what it was two years ago. On the other hand, if we look at the gaming industry we can see a “Ray of Positive light”. Worried, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic’s outbreak two years ago, Indian parents from all socioeconomic groups routinely encouraged their kids to avoid playing video games. It was seen as being very taboo back then. But now the scenario has totally changed. The jobs in the gaming industry are rising at a high pace.

Due to this even after graduation, they are not able to become properly skilled workers. Similarly, according to the National Employability Report 2019, 80% of the students who have passed engineering in India, despite having a degree from a reputed and expensive institution, are not suitable for the job as per the demand of the market. Although about 1.5 million students pass engineering every year, about 12.5 of the millions of students are forced to work in non-technical fields for low pay.
